Lake Trout vs. Splake (How to Tell Them Apart)
Splake is a hybrid between lake and brook trout, which means that it resembles both parent species quite a bit. Splake are both smaller and darker than lakers. The splake’s tail isn’t as deeply forked as that of the lake trout, and splake have fewer appendages on their intestinal tract.
