The mirror carp is closely related to the wild common carp. Mirror carp are most commonly found in Europe and North America. It is a rather deep and round fish that can reach a weight of over 80lb and an impressive age of more than 50 or 60 years.
Common carp are fully covered by scales, whilst mirror carp have irregular patches of scales all over their body. Mirror carp are much rounder than commons. Also, common carp usually fight more than mirror carp do when they have been hooked.
